Verizon’s USB LTE Data Modem Gets Pictured

With Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE rollout on track, we’re seeing the first glimpse of a shiny USB data modem for the carrier’s network. As Verizon moves forward with 4G, SIM cards will also be supported and used, and you’ll see the domestic SIM in the LG-made USB modem
With security increasingly important nowadays, a design has come up with an interesting concept device called the Ekey , which is a small gadget that acts like a personal biometric fingerprint scanner. Instead of having to install fingerprint scanners at all sorts of locations, users who carry the Ekey around will be able to plug it into devices that sport a USB connector, and authenticate themselves via fingerprint recognition.

Despite the useful design, the question of how we will unplug a device that’s sandwiched between other USB ports still hasn’t been resolved
If you don’t have a USB 3.0 port on your notebook, your next best bet might be the eSATA port, which is still much faster than your standard USB 2.0 port. The folks over at A-DATA have now come up with the N909 flash drive that supports the USB 2.0 + eSATA combo port that’s commonly found on many modern notebooks. The benefit of the design used by A-DATA is that you won’t need an extra USB connection for power, and it’s able to offer read/write speeds of up to 90MB/s and 50MB/s respectively
