The Motorola Droid 2 isn’t out just yet (as that will happen only next month), but its user guide has already been leaked , revealing a bunch of key details that ought to whet your appetite including the MotoBlur skin , boasting a launcher with the phone and contact buttons sitting beside it. While the final build might be radically different or changed in some way and that user guides are not gospel truth, but there isn’t any reason to dismiss the MotoBlur skin at time of publishing
Motorola turned in a solid second quarter, with both revenue and earnings outpacing analysts’ expectations. The company also said it foresees good results for the current quarter, in part on the expected strength of sales of its new Droid X smartphone , which went on sale in mid-July and quickly sold out at many stores
It seems like only yesterday that Apple decided it must show Motorola’s new Droid X phone as having more signal problems than the average British railway line.
Google’s anticipated Android 2.2 mobile OS seems to be turning up everywhere nowadays, and when someone purchased the Motorola Droid X off eBay, the device surprisingly came preinstalled with Android 2.2 FroYo. Apparently the firmware installed is just a test build, and isn’t the final product, but it’s still nice to know that the firmware is busy being installed on Droid X devices around, and we’re looking forward to seeing it officially offered for the Droid X, hopefully sooner rather than later. It’ll be interesting to see how long all this mudslinging will be going on, but neutral parties will probably get a good laugh out of the whole deal.
While it hasn’t been officially confirmed just yet, word is going around that the Motorola Droid X, HTC Droid Incredible , and the Motorola Droid will be getting the juicy Android 2.2 update at the same time. If this rumor is accurate, then the update will begin to be pushed out on August 6th, with the update expected to have arrived
It’s already a fairly known fact that mobile data usage has increased a lot recently due to the many powerful smartphones in the market, and AT&T’s network is already quite well known for having trouble keeping up with the iPhone’s data demands. Now Jennifer Byrne, executive director at Verizon, has stated that the Droid X users seem to consume about five times the amount of data usage than any other device, which is quite intense, but considering that the Droid X is quite a capable Internet-connected device, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to anyone
So we all have heard about Motorola’s Droid X suffering from Wi-Fi reception issues , but that doesn’t mean interest in the phone has dwindled. No sir, it seems that the smartphone might just get even more popular with word of the Droid X being rooted successfully thanks to a user who prefers to go by the moniker Birdman.
While most folks have their attention focused on the iPhone 4′s Death Grip issue , it seems that the freshly-launched Motorola Droid X is not without its own set of problems. Aside from the recent display issues , users are also reporting that the phone has difficulty connecting to Wi-Fi hotspots , and also encounters poor network performance once a connection has been established
