iPhone with Wi-Fi heading to China?

Symantec said Wednesday that it will buy VeriSign’s security business and a majority stake in VeriSign Japan for about $1.28 billion in cash. Under the agreement, Symantec will acquire VeriSign’s identity and authentication business, including the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and VeriSign Trust and VeriSign Identity Protection Authentication services. “With the combined products and reach from Symantec and VeriSign, we are poised to drive the adoption of identity security as the means to provide simple and secure access to anything from anywhere, to prevent identity fraud and to make online experiences more user-friendly and hassle-free,” Enrique Salem, president and chief executive at Symantec, said in a statement.
