Super slim: Ashlee Simpson looked very slim last night on the red carpet at a Neil Lane event in Los Angeles

The 25-year-old, who is married to singer Pete Wentz, was at a Neil Lane jewellery launch and looked a mere shadow of her former, more curvacious self.

Simpson showed off her slim figure in a sleeveless, long black dress with an open back.

A lot of women struggle to lose weight after giving birth, but for Simpson it appears to be exactly the opposite.

The singer gave birth to her son, Bronx Mowgli on November 20, 2008 and appears much thinner post baby than she ever was before.

In an interview with Shape magazine Simpson confessed to having once struggled with an eating disorder.

She said she developed one when she was at ballet school and was surrounded by girls that all had eating disorders. She claims she was 5ft 2in and weighed just 5 stone.

Neil Lane is known as the jeweller to the stars, and they all turned out last night to preview his new range of wedding jewellery.

Kristin Davis, AnnaLynne McCord, Carmen Electra, Rachel Griffiths, Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia De Rossi, Eva Longoria and Kate Walsh were all spotted on the red carpet.

Usually Lane’s jewellery is priced way out of the range for mere mortals to be able to afford, but last night he launched his new ‘affordable’ bridal line.

Lane has teamed up with Kay jewellers, designing 36 pieces that range in price from $2,500 to $7,500 a piece.

‘It’s about the setting, the ring, the design – It’s about love,’ Lane says.
